Video tips for newbies

It’s easy to make videos to upload to Mash Pit Comedy. Grab any camera you can get hold of: handycam, digital stills camera that has a video function, your mobile phone.

To have a better chance of your video being selected to appear on the Mash Pit Comedy TV show, follow these guidelines.

You can upload a wide range of video formats to MashPitComedy.com. We accept these video formats:
.wmv .avi .mov .mpg .3gp

Make sure your video file is less than 100MB in size.

Make sure your video is less than 5 minutes long (short comedy is good comedy).

Before you upload a video clip, you’ve got to make sure it’s encoded into the best format for upload to Mash Pit Comedy.

Before you upload your comedy:

  • Keep your video under 5 minutes
  • Your video file should be no bigger than 100MB
  • Film your video full-screen, ideally 16:9 aspect ratio, screen resolution 1024x576 pixels
  • Use a low-compression codec like H.264 with 25 fps for best results.
